"Welcome to the ATRS World Conference in Beijing. The ATRS has been holding annual conferences since 1997, but this is the first time we are meeting in Mainland China. By some measures, China is the largest aviation market in the world. So, we are more than overdue in coming to China’s capital, Beijing. The city supports 124 million passengers annually between its two major airports, making the Beijing the world’s 6th largest aviation hub. Please join me in thanking the conference organizers, representing seven leading universities across Beijing, for their efforts in hosting this conference. I hope that you find the presentations to be informative, and that you make use of the many opportunities outside of presentation times to network with fellow researchers. Finally, take an opportunity to enjoy the many wonderful sites around this great city."

"Dear colleagues and friends,

I hope you are doing well in the summer. This will be the first ATRS World Conference in Mainland China. Our local colleagues have already started preparation work.

I would like to thank the Beijing conference organizers for their excellent preparation so far. We all hope that you attend the conference in Beijing where we can exchange research results and ideas, and renew old acquaintances and meet new friends.

As Vice President External of ATRS, and with responsibility for our conference portfolio, I am particularly proud to see our annual gathering hosted in one of the world’s most dynamic aviation markets and in a city that so strongly reflects both tradition and transformation. On behalf of ATRS, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Beijing 2026 Organising Committee and all colleagues and partner institutions for their contributions to preparing this conference. Organising an international academic conference of this scale requires vision, dedication, and countless hours of work, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment. "Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to Beijing for the 29th ATRS World Conference. Air transport is entering a new era of transformation. Safety, resilience, sustainability, digitalization, uncrewed aviation, intelligent air traffic management, communication, navigation and surveillance technologies, and integrated multimodal mobility are reshaping how people and goods move across the world. As a global city with a strong foundation in aviation science and technology, vibrant universities and research institutions, and extensive opportunities for real-world innovation, Beijing provides an inspiring setting for this important gathering. ATRS has long served as a leading international forum for rigorous research, open exchange, and meaningful engagement among academia, industry, and government. As Conference Chair, I warmly invite scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and young researchers from around the world to share new ideas, present cutting-edge findings, and build partnerships that can help address the opportunities and challenges facing global aviation. We hope ATRS 2026 Beijing will be more than an academic conference. We hope it will be a bridge across regions, disciplines, and sectors, and a platform for advancing air transport systems that are safer, more efficient, more sustainable, more intelligent, and more inclusive. Welcome to Beijing. I look forward to meeting you in the summer of 2026 as we explore, together, the future of air transport."
